Mammals

There are 32 families of mammals located within the Neotropics; major conservation threats to these species include: habitat loss, hunting/poaching, climate change, and a variety of similar anthropogenic pressures

Amphibians

More than 2,900 species of amphibians reside in the Neotropics, with 7 recent extinctions and 358 listed as critically endangered of extinction.   Amphibians drink and breath partially through their skin, making them particularly sensitive to environmental changes.
